Performance Academy players train at Liverpool FC

03 November 2010

Players and Parents from Coerver® Coaching West Midlands, Sussex and Devon travelled up to Liverpool during the October half term 2010 to spend the day training at the Liverpool FC Academy.

Following on from the previous trips to Chelsea FC over the summer, the players were given an insight into life as a player at the Liverpool FC academy.

Liverpool FC coaching staff gave the group a tour of the first class facilities based in Kirby, Liverpool and then delivered two coaching sessions in line with the Liverpool FC Academy coaching programme.

Players and parents were lucky enough to meet Liverpool FC legend and director of football Kenny Dalglish and were able to meet players from Stoke City, including Kenwyne Jones and Eidur Gudjohnsen , who were training at the academy in preparation for their Premier League game against Everton FC.

The group then travelled to Anfield stadium for a tour and were also lucky enough to meet Liverpool FC legend Phil Neal, who captained the great team of the 1970’s to four European Cup final victories.

The trips that are exclusively provided in the UK for Coerver® Coaching Performance Academy players are made possible by our partnership with the adidas® International Training programme which provides a rare opportunity for grassroots players to train with some of the biggest adidas® sponsored clubs in the UK and around the world.

Coerver® Coaching UK Director Scott Wright said “Our partnership with adidas® ITP provides our players with and unbelievable opportunity to experience life as a young professional at some of the world’s biggest clubs. Being able to train with the likes of Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC is only a dream for many young players so I am delighted that we are able to offer this exclusive programme in the UK to our players and parents.
I would like to say a big thank you to the staff at Liverpool FC and adidas® ITP who ensured that we had a day never to forget”
